Wait finally someone has a take on sage mode that’s like mine Like boy my hot take on Naruto power scaling (or at least it seems like a hot take) People often seem to overstate the power difference between Kcm 1 and sage mode, often due to calcs and the fact that kcm 1 “seems stronger” and it is a little but not much stronger at all. Rather it seems to be on a similar level to sage mode maybe a little stronger but the advantages are more in other areas like stamina/duration and techniques/abilities and raw movement speed. Now let’s get into why 1st minato implies sage mode would not be enough to overcome the masked man and that Naruto would have to master the nine tails to be at that level. Kcm 1 isn’t Naruto mastering the ninetails. That’s Kcm 2 so that is what minato was likely referring to. This is supported by minato himself having Kcm 2 and therefore possibly knowing about it (if his sealed soul and fragment of chakra inside of Naruto share consciousness. Which they seem to as minato seems aware of that experience when he comes back.) 2: Kcm 1 and sage mode get interchanged a lot throughout the war arc this wouldn’t make sense unless the boost is in fact comparable and the primary difference is just movement speed and stamina which Kcm is better for. 3: Naruto uses sage mode to help him beat down kurama, Kcm 1 Naruto would be weaker than the kurama sage Naruto fought (as Kcm 2 is when he has all the power and has essentially mastered it by forming a friendship with kurama) Now sage Naruto had assistance from his mom and bee so he’d be a little weaker than kurama’s full power. So both Kcm 1 and sage mode are both a little weaker than the full power of Naruto’s kurama meaning as boosts they’d be comparable. 4: if the kurama avatar is comparable to a full bijuu transformation that would make Kcm 2 akin to v2 with bones and Kcm 1 likened to the 4 tails this interpretation removes far more power scaling contradictions and actually fixes a lot of the power discrepancies brought along by the war arc. And guess what 4 tails Naruto is about above sannin level which lo and behold is where sage mode Naruto’s power level is. So again while I think Kcm 1 is a little above pain arc sage Naruto I actually think this is more due to Naruto’s base getting a little stronger as opposed to any significant power difference between the forms. Since his base didn’t grow that ludicrously strong from pain to the war arc (he was already around kakashi’s level by the time of the pain arc and kakashi was considered the best candidate power wise to be hokage meaning base Naruto would be approaching the top joinin-low kage level) Kcm 1 Naruto is really not that much stronger than sage Naruto in the pain arc and is likely equal to his war arc sage variant simply having way more stamina. So yea I think sage Naruto does well against the kage. And oh look through this interpretation I’ve increased the consistency of shippuden power scaling massively. I wonder if this is the more rational interpretation of what kishimoto wrote and intended.

Late reply, but I don't actually think Sasori would nessacarily beat Gaara, Gaara is like the perfect counter to Sasori's tactics (with one potential exception): Sasori heavily relies on poison to take out enemies, which is gonna be useless vs Gaara who can block everything with sand: Even against the 100 puppets, there's not really anything they can do to get through Gaara's defenses if he totally hunkers down in a sand shell/sphere. The only thing Sasori can maybe do is use the Iron sand to dig/work it's way through Gaara's own sand, and I'm not even sure that would work. That said, Deidera CAN blow holes in Gaara's defenses, so 2v1 he's washed I also think Onhki is consistently underestimated here: If all or most of the other Kage are taken out, nothing is stopping him from flying out of the building and de-atomizing the entire area with particle style. Only characters who can really deal with that would be Itachi (with the yata mirror, maybe), pain (possibly with alimighty push or the preta path), and Konan (if she disassembles herself fast enough, doubtful, though I think you're also underselling her here: she can presumbly mix in sealing tags or even summoning paper with her paper, not just bombs, plus make different paper constructs: if she can make butterflies and knives and lances, she can do other things, too)

If Kabuto had that DNA ability to take other's talents, Kekkei Genkai, and stuff to himself, why did he only take the DNA of those Sound fodder guys? If he had the DNA to summon Madara, the Third Raikage, or even the Hokage, whose DNA Orochimaru had (since the Edo Tensei demands the user to have the DNA of the revived person), couldn't he have assimilated their DNA instead of freakin Tayuya, Jirobo, etc? Can you just imagine Kabuto with Rinnegan, Wood Style, Susanoo and more? He would be the strongest mf out there. All because the plot didn't want him to take the strong ones' DNA.

Neji even claims in his fight with Naruto, as if to praise his speed feats, “You can’t get away from me” Even with weightless Lee speed, Sasuke literally has to rely on Chidori speed to end Neji in one blow because he doesn’t have the luxury or speed required to handle close combat with a Hyuga atleast without that third tomoe.

So itachi has the ability to plant a genjustu in somebody else's eyes right, is the pre requisite for this to absorb a high level jutsu with his susano, or else why wouldn't he use it more, like he obviously learns to seal chalkra in his susano sword, he does it to absorb the altered curse seal in Sasuke then uses the chalkra he seals away to plant the agenjutsu into Sasuke's head do you think these two abilities are actually related??, because as far as I know Sasukes Ms was the ability to seal jutsu with susano, was just wondering if you thought his sharingan could also do something with the chalkra he steals???

I think before the finals if Sasuke does not get cm1 out then Neji would body him. If he does then I actually think Sasuke with cm1 could beat Neji before the finals. In the finals I think Sasuke wins high diff. He beat base Gaara and he was able to hurt small one tail Gaara. The best feats Neji has is beating up base Naruto and being even in speed but overpowered by small nine tails Naruto who didn't get that much of a boost from the nine tails. People will bring up how Neji beat the spider sound 4 dude but that Neji is definitely stronger than he was in the finals and he barely won. He also one in a very specific way.

I think a lot of people are not noting even if Gaara’s defense is stronger, Neji’s Kaiten is actually MOVING at a high speed unlike the the sand, so even if it could pierce kaiten, the speed of Kaiten would obviously move the Chidori off course if not directly repelling the chidori and sasuke.

Gonna be honest here, Baki is very weird to scale, the Universe sometimes tries to ground itself in reality with statements like the one from Oliver saying no one could survive a fall from a skyscraper, Hanayama getting seriously injured by regular guns or bakis cockroach dash only working because its faster than the .5 seconds it takes for someone to respond and then stating baki is around 170 mph, putting Baki characters reaction time around the .5 seconds, like Yujiro himself just straight up says thats the limit and his only way to avoid it is to read Bakis intent and act before he does. And seeing how both him and Musashi got hit the first time baki used the cockroach dash and someone like Oliver can get hurt by some regular police officer with a Katana, any verse that can slice them in under .5 seconds just straight up wins

The key thing to keep in mind in Naruto Vs partially transformed Gaara is that Gaara literally didn't move at all in that fight, he stood on the same tree branch the entire time while letting Naruto pummel him. What's more, Naruto's clone barrage didn't even do much damage, all it did was peel off some sand. Now compare that to chidori which broke through the sand thrice and each time Gaara was left bleeding and wounded. So it's misleading to use Naruto's speed and AP feats (and by extension Neji's) to put him above Sasuke. Not saying you do this but it's very common.

This entire war basically came down to kabuto vs a very small handful of people. It would have turned out exactly the same even if all the people dedara could have killed just stayed home because he wasn’t killing the people that actually mattered.

You’re argument for Sasuke heavily revolves around just chidori. When has the chidori ever been successful at anything other than a finishing move? You act like Sasuke would just 1 shot with chidori, but even base Gaara gets hit by chidori and it wasn’t even a fatal wound. Chidori can also be countered by a simple substitution jutsu, like Deidara did. CM2 Kidoumaru’s arrows were many times faster than Sasuke with chidori, and Neji was still able to avoid fatal injuries, so it’s not as simple as “chidori, gg”. Sasuke has the CM but can’t use it, or he would be disqualified, as stated by Kakashi. But regardless, Neji doesn’t show much emotion and doesn’t even bother to activate byakugan when he witnesses CM Sasuke in the forest of death, yet Neji is blown away by Rock lee and activates byakugan when the 4th gate is opened. Sasuke is mainly a mid/close range fighter and Neji is far more potent up close. So to be fair, Sasuke would hit Neji with chidori and maybe take him by surprise his strings, but at some point Sasuke will get hit with gentle fist, losing the ability to use Ninjutsu. At that point Sasuke has no answer for byakugans near 360 vision, or rotation.

the difference between palm rotation and Gaaras sand is that its neji himself spinning, so not only is it the chakra being emitted and rotated, but its also nejis hands so unless he goes through nejis hand neji can catch his arm or redirect the trajectory. Peircing the rotation doesnt directly pierce nejis body, because its an arms length plus maybe a few inches of chakra before it then reaches nejis body. Something spearlike, like chidori could get the itachi treatment.
